"I'M MAD AS HELL"

Howard Beale delivering his famous "I'm as mad as Hell" speech from the movie NETWORK. Howard, faced with being sacked announces he will kill himself on air. The network continues to give him these time slots and exploit him. However, one evening he exposes links between the corporation and big business. The most powerful stockholder, Arthur Jensen, takes Howard into his room and gives a memorable speech about how Howard's vision of the world is inaccurate and that money is all that really matters anymore.

Of course, this was just a movie and clearly the correct, sober, Weegie response to the Council's attitude would be to emulate Ivana Trump's response to Donald's divorce papers:
“Don’t get mad, get even.” Perhaps there's a certain wry symmetry here?
